Dinner with the Ambassador of Slovakia

Date Posted: 06 November 2018

Tuesday 6th November at 7pm

Members with an interest in modern international affairs will be interested to hear that the first of a new series of events organised by the Wine & Social Committee is to be held in the Club.

On this occasion arrangements have been made for the Ambassador of Slovakia to the Court of St James, His Excellency ─Żubomír Rehak, (Tata European Diplomat of the Year in 2017) to visit the Club for dinner. The Committee is grateful to Nigel B.H. Payne Esq, Honorary Consul in Wales for Slovakia, for being instrumental in organising this visit.

During the evening the Ambassador and Honorary Consul will inform members about recent events in the history of Slovakia, particularly covering the last 25 years since the separation of the Czech and Slovak republics, and outline the current and predicted economic performance of the Country, which is experiencing significant growth – particularly in the automobile manufacturing sector.

Members will be served a Gourmet Slovakian Autumn Dinner, prepared by the Slovakian London Embassy Chef, in cooperation with the Club’s own culinary team, consisting of

Starter

smoked Slovakian cheese, with plum jam and grilled beetroot

Main Course
